My friends cornered my ex and i feel bad! should i tell him im sorry?

My ex completely broke my heart. This was two years ago but we have some of the same friends and i keep being reminded of him still. His friends all want me to go to a show with them this summer. My friends still hate him and saw him at a party over the weekend and i guess went up to him and said 'youre that guy that really hurt kristina right? and he goes, 'yeah' they said 'you know youre going to die tonight, right?' and he goes 'yeah, i know'. And i hate him but i dont and since him and i and his friends are supposed to go to that show this summer i feel like i should tell him im sorry about that so things arent awkward. Should I do that? I havent talked to him since we broke up..so idk if i should leave it be and wait till its actually awkward orrr tell him im sorry and im not mad my friends just are still.. Thanks!
